This month has been a very busy month. We didn’t just have the weekly sabbaths but we also had the fall high holidays. On Yom Teruah I was one of two men blessed to blow the shofar at our tashlich service. Then on Yom Kippur my family and I was blessed by a very easy fast and met with fellow believers. Then Sukkot (feast of tabernacles) began. Sukkot is still going on right now but during the intermediate days of sukkot work is allowed. That is why I have taken some of these days to write blogs. We also had to take sunday to do yard work because we got a notice from the city that we had to cut down some weeds at the back of our property. The only way to reach those weeds was to take down part of the fence so it was kind of a pain.
The month of Tishrei contains three major hebrew holidays as I listed above. The month of Tishrei came early this year. Tishrei began at sunset on September 4th. The first day of Tishrei started Yom Teruah or Rosh Hashanah if you wish to call it that. Then Yom Kippur fell on the 10th day of Tishrei that coincided with the weekly sabbath beginning at sunset friday the 13th and ending at sunset the 14th. Most jewish sources count it as a 25 hour fast but the biblical mandate in the torah is a 24 hour fast. Then sukkot began last Wednesday night on the 18th of September the 15th day of Tishrei it lasts until sunset on the 26th of September; the 22nd day of Tishrei. Some people will proclaim that Sukkot ends on the 7th day but the biblical mandate is 8 days. Many will claim that Shemini Atzeret is not a part of sukkot but shemini atzeret in heberw is translated as “the assembly of the 8th day”. It is a day of rejoicing and gathering together to share in the joy on the 8th day of sukkot. The 8th day is a sabbath where no work is permitted and a joyful assembly is called.
This month has been busy for us without a doubt. There are lots of things for us to get done after the high holidays are over. Then I will get back to working on my blog series called “Genesis: The Origins”. In a way I will be happy when all of this is over but I will miss the holidays very much. After the high holidays are over there will be about two months until Hanukkah. You will see a few blogs on Montana Truth Seekers about the holiday of Hannukah, most likely during the coming months. I have two blogs up already that discuss the Maccabees and Hannukah.
The point of this blog is the month of Tishrei is considered one of the holiest months of the year by most jews and torah observant churches. It is clear that the appointed times have not been done away with at all. Yeshua never came to destroy the law (torah) or in other words make it null and void. Yeshua came to make the law complete. It was already perfect but the perfect priesthood had not yet come. Yeshua now serves as the perfect high priest and perfect sacrifice. I urge you all to repent if you have not yet done so. Run to the lamb of YHWH who is Yeshua and cling to Him and His teachings.
Remember Yeshua kept and taught the torah. It is a myth that he spoke out against the torah. The teaching of “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth” is one of the most misunderstood teaching of Yeshua and the torah. Most proclaim that since an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth is spoke of in the torah that Yeshua was speaking against torah. That is a false teaching that comes from ignorance of the hebrew text and language. The word “for” in the context of an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth comes from the hebrew word “tachat”. The important thing to note about the hebrew language is that each word has multiple meanings. You can do this with some english words too. Let us take a look at the word “bite”, bite can mean to clamp down with ones teeth to tear food or inflict pain. Bite can mean temperatures are so cold it stings. Bite can mean someone is persuaded to take an offer. Bite can mean to corrode a surface using acid or even for the grip of a surface such as with the soles of your shoe. By now you get my point. One word can have multiple meanings.
Tachat in the hebrew language can mean “under”, “beneath”, below”, “instead of”, “at the feet of”, “down”, “replaces”, “in place of”, “in return for that” or “for”. Many scholars tried to justify revenge throughout the ages using the torah passage “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth”. Just as men have been doing throughout the ages since the fall of man perverting the word of our Elohim and Yeshua to mean what they want it to mean. It is not a new thing. Yeshua was speaking of the teachings of men proclaiming that it is okay to take revenge. Yeshua was confirming the torah and striking down the teachings of men. All throughout the torah our Elohim states that vengeance belongs to YHWH and no one else. Yeshua was condemning the teachings of men that proclaimed vengeance is okay. The teaching of “an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth” was about civil suits and such. It meant that if a man caused another man to lose their eye sight the criminal had to pay the value of the eye sight. Yeshua also said you have “heard that it is written” not “seen that it was written” because he was referring to the teaching of interpretations of men. Yeshua was warning them against believing the interpretations of man and go straight to what the word really says.
Yeshua was giving them the proper teaching of what YHWH meant. Contrary to what many of the greatest teachers in the land was teaching at that time. The way Yeshua phrased it in his teachings was understood by everyone in that day and time. The problem is most people do not understand the ancient languages. So many churches are nothing more than the Pharisees teaching the interpretations of men over what the word of our Elohim really says! Only if you get down and deep into the original language will you be able to understand what it truly means. The original language set of scriptures is perfect as it was written and is infallible. However over 2000 years of translations, the original meaning has become difficult to understand for the everyday person because of how the translators interpreted certain things based on their view point and then you have pastors and teachers interpreting the translators interpretation. Most churches are not just teaching interpretations but interpretations of interpretations.
It saddens my heart that so many people have been led astray by false teachers. Teachers teaching their interpretations of scripture that goes far against what the scriptures actually teach. Time is running out but things are afoot, many are waking up and repenting. The messianic community is growing by leaps and bounds. I encourage you all if you have not already done so to repent of your sins and come out of the churches of lawlessness. Flee from the wickedness and run into the arms of Yeshua and please get involved with a torah observant church. If you do not know how to find a torah observant church then I encourage you to pray that YHWH and Yeshua will lead you to the proper group at the proper time.
For those who have understanding figure this riddle out:
Visions of blood banging on my Head!
Clock Strikes Midnight at Two AM!
Alcatraz inmates are set free!
Aliens are demons in a tree!
What could this mean?
What could this mean?
Run little lambs!
Flee, flee, flee
