I just wanted to make a real quick post. I had a experience a few days ago. I had not mentioned it on the blog or in email. I decided I wanted to snap a picture of my pinky finger and show it all to you and tell you a little story and give a short message. I have a german shepherd named Lizzy. She is a wonderful dog! I had taken her for a walk with the lockable and retractable lead a few days ago. There are warnings on the lead that tell you not to grab the lead that extends from the base. I had her locked down but some how the lock came unlocked and out of instinct I hit the lock button not realizing there was a lock failure and then grabbed the lead coming from the base. The button messed up again and Lizzy bolted as hard as she could towards a cat with me holding the lead. It was not funny at all. It hurt and nearly took my little finger half way off.
My mother has warned me about grabbing the lead like that but I have a hard time remembering stuff like that. Here is a picture of my injury. It is looking much better according to everyone else. The cut was pretty deep and rough. I am just now being able to move it again near the end of day three.
I do have a point I wish to make with this. Warning labels and directions exist for a reason. If you do not follow them, you are going to get hurt. It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow but one day you will get hurt. That leads me to my final point. God gave us an instruction manual with a list of do’s and don’ts. That manual is called the Holy Bible. If you do not go by that manual you may go through life on top of the world but one day you will have to pay the price for not following those instructions. He gave us those instructions because He loves us and does not want to be separated from us. We will have to follow that to a tee because God does not wink at sin.

Nice teaching point! Sorry to hear about your finger. Hope it heals quickly for you.
Thank you so much. It is getting better as long as I don’t use it too much. It is harder to type and wash my hands than it is to chop wood with my ax for some reason. I don’t typically discuss such matter but realized the value of the lesson and it needed to be done.
